Jack is a futitive of The System. He is a victim of circustance. Approximately 20 years ago, The System banned the genetic manipulation and cloning of humans because some organisations were suspiciously mass producing physically and mentally advanced units. It was uncertain what they were designed for, but it was obvious that they were not going to be used as company employees. Before anymore units could be produced, The System outlawed genetic manipulation and cloning of humans.
Before this, factories tagged and released their units after treating them with a chemical causing them infertility as an attempt to constrain this new advanced breed. Though this measure was taken, some units could still breed. Jack, like many others was an illegal, unregistered child born hidden away from The System for his protection. Now, years later, The System is hunting down these modified decendants and Jack is one of the few that remain.
